No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Microsoft full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

- Working with some of the smartest people tackling real hard problems
- Great benefits
- Opportunity to move around and try a lot of different roles and get exposure to different businesses without leaving the company.

Cons

- Slow decisions, lot of overhead due to various internal processes and reviews which are unnecessary.
- Career growth has begun to slow down across the board as company is not growing much
- Bloated; lots of roles (especially in Marketing) are totally unnecessary; there is also a lot of overlap.

I have been working at Microsoft full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You get to work on interesting, challenging problems. Products used by millions or hundreds of millions. Hours are flexible with no reporting - as long as you're getting your work done, nobody cares about your hours. Nobody cares about how you dress either.

    Cons

Some degree of internal politics, but that's unavoidable.

    Advice to Management

We need to be faster and make better decisions about competing with our major competitors like Apple and Google.

I have been working at Microsoft full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good Salary
    Nice location

The work that you do may not be super interesting, but it's nice to see that your work is actually used in a piece of software used by millions.

    Cons

    Many unfriendly team members
    Strange work mentality

The work environment is very unfriendly. Even though you are in teams, everybody at Microsoft really looks out for themselves.
