I have been working at Microsoft as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

The FTEs are great people. The other contractors aren't all as good, but in my dept the people are amazing. Kind, helpful, cool.
The job isn't hard if you are good at problem solving. If you hated word problems in math class, perhaps this isn't the best position for you.
Great experience, wonderful culture, casual dress, good pay, flexible hours, etc etc etc - if the work gets done, they're happy.

    Cons

Lots of contractors, fewer FTE positions. Rarely, but occasionally feel like a second class citizen. I assume it's this way contracting anywhere, though - and I know that the only things I'm excluded from are the ones they can't invite me to by policy (FTE)

    Advice to Management

    SC&WS.
