Pros

smart people to work with and it is free to do what you like and can do research on popular tech

Cons

Cannot make real code but only ideas and demos. Microsoft is not good at internet dev. I don't like to work under windows.

Advice to Management

The leader is nice in Microsoft, not that tough. But they are push, you have to finish and implement your ideas very quickly.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Great benefits, great pay. Good opportunities for advancement if you're talented, and it's a big company with a lot of options - you can switch roles, rather than switch companies.

    Cons

It's difficult moving between roles - it's more like interviewing at another company in that you have to complete a full interview loop. This can lead to tension with your current management.

    Advice to Management

Microsoft is, overall, a great place to work. One way to make it better would be to make it easier to move between teams.

    Pros

    Health benefits are good. Reputation.

    Cons

Upward mobility, senior management, politics are horrible.

    Advice to Management

Be more willing to take chances and make hard decisions. Don't play it safe all the time. More rewards and recognition for middle management.
