Pros

Great ancillary training; some mid-level managers that are fantastic - motivating, smart, very qualified.

Cons

Isolated senior management; too many decisions based on personality and not analysis and relevance. Disresgard for employee chosen career paths for personal agendas - HR is a significant failure. (see interview review for comments provided by someone else) It's like having to relive high school and not being in the small 'it' crowd all over again for most of the staff.

Advice to Management

Take off your blinders; survey employees and find our what's really going on. Listen and react.

The company strives to build a strong work environment and advancing employee's growth from within the company. Management works with employees to train them to take on different challenges and improve upon new and existing skills. The company takes notice of hard work. The benefits are very generous and rewarding.

    Cons

Communication can sometimes be an issue, but it's not a big deal.

    Advice to Management

Continue to challenge employees and help them grow within the company. Great job.

I have been working at Midland States Bank (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company to work for as a whole. The pay is a little more than some banks in the area.

    Cons

Not so great if you work at a small branch and your bank manager doesn't know what they are doing. Upper management does not pay attention to who is actually doing all the work.

    Advice to Management

Have a better review process for the banking center managers. Maybe talk to their employees about what kind of manager they really are, if they are doing their job, or if they even know how to do the thing they should know how to do.
