Pros

It was enjoyable working with the students. Most of the employees get nice breaks around the Holidays. The tuition remission and exchange programs are nice benefits.

Cons

The school has been in financial straights for about 8 years now. So, they're constantly looking at ways to cut costs. Those cuts usually involve salary freezes, reductions, and layoffs.

Advice to Management

As leaders of a Lutheran institution, try being more Christian in your approach and less corporate. Don't look at your employees as numbers. Try to see them as people who have dedicated years of service to a college that they once loved.

I worked at Midland University as a contractor

    Pros

There are none I can think of.

    Cons

They are not truthful; new management has let go so many people who were there previously; found out I lost my job by seeing it posted and was not told by the head of my dept; sports centered now because that's the way they get students. Students complain about Midland all the time; cannot transfer many of their courses; do not like the instructors.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people doing the job.
