Pros

The staff was friendly and the managers were fair. At times we were understaffed but you have tom do with the money you have.

Cons

It was very long hours but all restaurnt jobs are like that. Place got a bit roudy at times with drunk customers, but that is to be expected at a sp[orts bar.

Advice to Management

The management staff was good, but employees git a little too laid back at times. Jobs werent always done at 110 percent.

    Pros

It has a steady flow of business, so there is a chance to make an "OK" amount of money. They are usually flexable with time off, so getting personal time off or anything else you need off for should not be a problem. They play good music during the day (Usually 80's) and at night there is music too. The staff can be fun at times. Most of the time, the shifts go by quickly do to a steady flow, but there are days when it can drag on and be slow. There are lots of TV's to watch during your shifts.

    Cons

The management tends to be moody. Many of the management are two-faced, nice to your face, but talk about everyone behind their back. Management lack leadership skills and respect. No benifits. Not clean. The management can not deal with stress well. It seems to be the nature of the business that it can be very stressful, yet time and time again the management seems to freak out. They strive to be clean (like most restaurants) but really are not. This is an OK job to get you through school, but thats about it. Some employees are very weird and untrustworthy.

    Advice to Management

Don't do drugs. Don't hire people who do.

I have been working at Miller's Ale House full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great concept, growing company, room for advancement. Still a smaller chain that has alot of room to grow. Moving into alot of new areas of the country.

    Cons

Long hours and latenights. Never able to focus on anything. You get a million things thrown at you everyday and have choose which to focus on. Change is good, but changing something just to change it is not good. Find something that works and stick with it.
The good old boy network is alive and well, which is not always good. "Do as I say, not as I do" is in play.

    Advice to Management

Focus on people- employees and guest and your numbers will work out.
