I have been working at MindTouch, Inc. for less than a year

    Pros

Culture - fast paced atmosphere focused on exceeding goals while keeping the customer at the center of our purpose. The people here are creative, highly intelligent, extremely humorous, crafty, passionate, outlandish and F-ing awesome KANMFers ! The CEO and COO are at standing desks amongst the rest of the team and are always accessible and interested in your work and your life. It is very common to be eating lunch...

    Cons

I really can't find any real cons about MindTouch but if I had to be nit-picky I would say there are not enough holiday days off.

    Advice to Management

Continue to mix amongst the team and build an inspiring work place. Keep hiring only the best people. Continue trying to find ways to take care of your staff - more healthy options in the kitchen and pushing fitness and healthy habits. Continue injecting your personalities into the workplace, it motivates people and makes it more fun to be here.

Thanks for your feedback. The Saturday running/jog/walk clinic is available to everyone. I think we've improved a bit on the healthiness of the catered meals with Jason at the helm. Fruit seems to be more prevalent too. Please know it was your feedback that helped encourage this. ...

I have been working at MindTouch, Inc. full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Product is not "garbage", but any reviewer who would make that comment can stay in their limited role and complain. I ask that you please move aside for someone who actually does something. Indeed, senior engineering and devops individuals are among the finest in the industry. Too bad we're not 100% open sourced, there are some wonderful technical solutions in our codebase. If you are interested in working with Serverless...

    Cons

If you don't subscribe to the philosophy of "don't ask for permission, ask for forgiveness", you will find yourself on the outside of most tactical decision making here. If you expect to settle comfortably into an organization transitioning from startup to growth and wait for opportunities or promotions, you'll be very disappointed. Individuals put into the management role has been hit and miss for a number of years,...

    Advice to Management

It likely varies from department to department how transparent directors are when it comes to the nature of startup culture -- they need to be upfront about what candidates are signing up for. A mentorship program for those aspiring to be team leads or managers would be valuable. Marketing message needs to focus on what makes MindTouch different from knowledgebases. Address the size of the engineering team, it...
