Pros

Good workplace environment with the exception of new management.

Cons

The family owners are no longer involved and new "corporate management" is not personable at all. Very numbers driven and management has no concern about employees anymore. All new supervisors and managers worked under our executives at other companies and they don't care abot MPC but about how they did things at the other company.

Advice to Management

Pay attention to employee feedback and stop acting like we don't matter at all. We make the product that pays your salary.

    Pros

MPC knows how to bring in sales and keep the shop working, even in tough times. They have very little debt and are family owned. They have good market penetration in domestic auto - especially with Ford. They have a long track record of sales growth and a lot of good quality people at every level.

    Cons

The family has stepped back from day to day operations so the culture has changed from a family atmosphere to a more corporate, hit the numbers culture. There is much more of a disconnect between management and employees, and between new and old leadership. Not much opportunity for advancement due to new management bringing in past reports to fill positions.

    Advice to Management

Recapture the people value, family culture. You do not have to sacrifice performance and hitting the numbers. You will probably have better results with people who feel valued and can participate in leading. Take the time to listen, empower and respect those who really know the processes.

Develop a caring attitude toward your employees and you will go far. The business had great potential. It needs to have great leaders to move it ahead.
