Pros

They hire good people. Work is interesting.

Cons

The benefits are weak. Vacation time is dictated by Model N. They don't focus on existing customers, only on new ones. They have had a number of large scale layoffs. The most recent was in October 2013

Advice to Management

Bring in a senior leadership team that knows how to manage customers and execute sales processes. The entire senior team is comprised of engineers

    Pros

    1. The best aspect of working for Model N is the coworkers. In general, the people at Model N are friendly and easy to get along with.

    2. Depending on the needs of the customer, the job is very flexible and allows for working remotely when necessary.

    Cons

    1. The biggest downside to Model N is the lack of job security. With Model N's current situation, it is hard to tell what the future will hold for the company. After a recent round of heavy layoffs, the uncertainty among employees can be felt.

    2. As a consultant for Model N a lot of time is spent battling with the Product Development team. Often times the software does not work as it should and there is unnecessary push back from PD when the focus should be on what makes the costumer happy.

    3. It often feels that there is not enough support and team members can be stretched thin at times.

    4. The compensation and benefits leave much to be desired.

    Advice to Management

Get your act together. Listen to your customers and stop developing code in a box. Plan your sales and execute. Dont be afraid to take the road less traveled
