Pros

Great work environment. People are great to work with. Pay is decent and sometimes potential bonus depending on how the company does financially. Pay raises almost every year.

Cons

You have to watch your back. Supervisors and management smile in your face; when you turn around they stab you in the back. They will fire anyone for simply stupid reasons... If management doesn't like you, then you can kiss your job bye bye. They will write you up for anything and everything until they can get you out the door. Some things they write you up for are so simple like talking lto someone around your cubicle while people are on the phone, going over your time when you're supposed to be off. Yes! sometimes people get stuck with customers on the phone, and if a rep is supposed to be off at 4:30 but she's still there at 4:45 on the phone she's going to be talked to and even a write up. Someone has been written up for knitting at her desk when the phones were so slow it was 15 minutes between calls. Supervisor never know about any of the benefits, people have to ask their leads. Their system are out dated compared to their competitors in the health insurance market. Instead of coaching people, they nag at them and make them feel worthless. Sometimes they promote someone just so they can get rid of them. How pathetic is that?

Advice to Management

Hire management who actually care about the employees. You know, the employees who help you pockets stay fat, and keep angry customers off your face. People in the front lines serving the most important people to your company. Instead of writing people, why not help them? Train employees so they can do better. You treat your employees just like the members of your plan.

    it pays the bills, plus insurance is offered at a decent price.

    Management staff is terrible, they keep getting moved around all the time.

    Pros

    Great second level management team and alot of good staff members. Working with these people and the ability to positively impact people's healthcare experience help make the job enjoyable.

    Cons

    Highly political environment which many times impedes effective communication across all levels of the organization and damages trust between management and staff. Lots of fire fighting, a very reactive environment. Health insurance became self funded in 2008 and has many opportunities for improvement, operationally rough during the first year. Premium inequalities, catastrophic coverage for employee only was nearly free. Medicare operation is unusual give the company stance against marketing, preferring word of mouth advertising.

    Advice to Management

    Practice what you preach, be transparent in agenda and practices, and promote values of the company in day to day operations and treatment of employees. Pull out of the daily details to take on a more strategic role and become a more proactive organization.
