Pros

Schedule and location flexibility was nice, as was the general autonomy. The people who reported to me were great, and eager for the guidance I provided during my relatively short tenure.

Cons

Low compensation, borderline non-existent benefits, shoestring budgets/resources. "Creative" incentive structures that result in backsliding pay, while avaricious executives concomitantly double their draw and duplicitously feign that you're getting a fair shake despite having no idea what the job entails. An amount of administrative chaos that one would expect from a substantially off-shored employee base working in a transactionally complex environment with no proper guidance for the better part of a decade, exacerbated by the fact that nobody in the company even knows what a bank reconciliation is (much less how or why to do one). There is basically half a decade worth of technical debt, from a financial statement close process perspective, and virtually zero control environment. Leadership prioritizes vanity metrics (e.g. gross revenue, despite the company being an agent rather than a principal) so as to publicly spin the company as larger than life during interviews, and consequently plays favourites with those departments which can increase the top line. Finally, the digitial advertising industry is absolute trash. Google "Tom Lockwood Ad Tech Sucks" for reasons why.

Pros

-team is fantastic—colleagues are collaborative, supportive, and genuinely invested in each other's success. -company’s remote setup provides the freedom to work from anywhere, which gives great flexibility. -HR team goes above and beyond to support employees and truly cares about their well-being. One aspect I deeply appreciate is their commitment to helping employees. They put in considerable effort to provide opportunities and guidance, even I'm part of the lay-offs.

Cons

-company is experiencing a financial crisis, leading to layoffs and restructuring. -I was let go despite being a strong performer and making significant contributions, but I remain positive, knowing there's always a reason behind it. I'm thankful to have been part of M2.

Pros

Remote work gives good work life balance

Cons

Layoffs have become common and easy way to get to black on the cap table.
