Pros

Fast paced but still allows for work/personal life balance

Cons

Some managers need a bit of training for soft skills but it's not a big problem there

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Monster Worldwide full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

flexible schedule and pay are the only two things I can say are good

    Cons

exec mgmt doesnt care about anything other than their 100% vested stock bonus, horrible red tape to get anything done (completely squashes creativity and "entrepreneurial spirit" that we were built on), each dept is out for their own and forget that we're "one team!" working towards the same goals.

    Advice to Management

    new CEO & Exec leadership

I worked at Monster Worldwide full-time

    Pros

    Decent benefits
    Salaries are reasonable
People treat each other with respect
Opportunities to take initiative and expand your role

    Cons

Incredibly inefficient - very few systems, those that do exist are archaic
Minimal communication between departments - it's not uncommon for two or more groups to work on similar initiatives without realizing the others are addressing similar issues. This is extremely inefficient and unproductive.
Unwillingness to accept that the competitive landscape is changing - many employees continue to possess an arrogance based on Monster's historical market position, without a recognition that Monster needs to accept and embrace the changing environment in order to stay relevant.
Goals are difficult to achieve because there is no cross-functional accountability. The people and resources required to achieve your goals may or may not be available when you need them.
No sense of urgency - deadlines feel more like suggestions. Projects drag on without accountability. Even meetings are a challenge because most people show up late. There is no respect for time and no attempt to increase efficiencies.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to end the "because we are Monster" arrogance and accept that the landscape has changed dramatically over the years. It's time to embrace new technologies and re-invent yourself in order to stay relevant.
