Pros

You get to observe how not to run a business. Observing incompetent senior management is also a teaching tool. Great place for egomaniacs.

Cons

Feels like walking into high school or a sorority each day where catiness and the ability to backstab any idea you cannot steal are key skills to survival.

Advice to Management

Go work as teachers assistants in a Junior High

I worked at Monster Worldwide full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are amazing people at most levels - very talented, dedicated and passionate. Employees really want Monster to succeed and are truly proud of the company's successes.

    Cons

For most of my tenure there was a significant gap in communication despite the consistency of quarterly meetings. Senior Execs blame the less senior leaders and then it all heads down hill. No pulse on what's new in the market. Major denial about company trajectory. It's really sad and unfortunate that such a strong force to be reckoned with in the industry has turned so dramatically.

    Advice to Management

Adhere to the core values of the org - "innovate relentlessly" - don't just look for the highest bidder. Too many people have given their all to just let the gas run out of the machine that used to be Monster.
