I worked at Morgan Stanley as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Prestige of working for one of the top investment banks, great learning opportunity, great networking, beautiful office

Cons

Long hours, unhappy employees, definite hierarchy structure

I worked with one CSA (essentially secretary) who was completely incompetent, rude, and moody yet had not been fired, let alone spoken to about her unprofessional and rude actions

Advice to Management

Provide incentives for lower level employees (CSAs) to actually complete their work in a timely matter

I worked at Morgan Stanley full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Terrific learning experience
Well known investment company, one of the best in the world.
It offers excellent resources to support your own practice
    Flexible hours
    Seasoned coworkers

    Cons

You need to find your own clients, it is not easy.
They dont care how many clients you have, they only care how much money you have under management.
As a new F.A. If you really want to make it in this business you have to work more than 40 hours a week, including saturdays.

I worked at Morgan Stanley as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

I was a part of the MS team for the 2012 summer as a global wealth management summer analyst. I had the opportunity to challenge myself daily and work with a diverse group of people. I was in a market facing role, so my days were always different with new tasks. The directors were all stand-up guys, always offering to lend a helping hand to the rookie and offering advice when needed. The hours were a little long, but the days flew by being around a great group of people.

    Cons

As an intern, you always get the short end of the stick. Meaning you get the work load, the phone calls no analysts want to handle, and maybe even the longer day. But, thats part of being the intern.

    Advice to Management

I'm a big guy, I need a longer lunch break.
