I worked at Morgan Stanley full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Bulge bracket banks provide better benefits than smaller banks do, especially for the 401k. Get to work with many incredibly smart people if working with front office.

Cons

Back office functions not respected by many front office people. Firm openly talks about trying to cut costs of "non producers". Lowest pay for equivalent work among the bulge brackets.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Morgan Stanley as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great salary and perks. Good work environment and collaboration between employees. Good location. Bosses listen to their employees and value their opinions. You learn a lot in a very short time.

    Cons

Unpredictable schedules. You may work from 8 am to 11 pm during a week and then even have to come during weekends. Lots of stress due to tight deadlines.

    Advice to Management

    Improve work-life balance.

    Pros

    -Looks good on your resume

    Cons

-Prospecting is just a fancy way of cold calling for 4 hours straight.
-FA's don't really help you out or try to teach you anything.
    -Absolutely no chance of advancement.

    Advice to Management

Add some value to the so called "internship".
