Positive Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I worked at Motorola Mobility full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

- Flexibility
- Great people with lots of passion (at least those I interacted with)
- Good salaries, great benefits

Cons

- Unstable (too many reorganizations, layoffs)
- Too much work for each person's bandwith therefore a lot of stuff was dropped or done half ass
- Many evening meetings due to factory being overseas (as it is with most companies nowdays)
- Motorola University was limited.
- Some opportunities for advancement but not many

Advice to Management

As Motorola Mobility enters the Google era hopefully workload will be more balanced, in the past too many balls were being dropped because simply there was too much work assigned to each person to be able to handle everything, it wasn't until those dropped balls exploded that priorities were refocused.

I worked at Motorola Mobility full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

People are great to work with. Great sense of teamwork and problem solving ability.

    Cons

Not very focused on long term direction of Home Business. Multiple Senior Leadership changes have convoluted the longer-term directional focus of the organization and the role it plays within Motorola Mobility

    Advice to Management

Keep employees aware of longer term direction of Home Business.

  2. "Downsizing company with no vision"

I worked at Motorola Mobility full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    1. Cutting edge technology.
    2. H1B sponsor.

    Cons

    1. Continuous downsizing kills the morale and hopes in the company's vision.
    2. The Top level management does not care about employees concerns. Those who raise their voice during a performance appraisal are those to be let go when a company restructuring is done and this happens every year because of shrinking profit margin and lack of proper vision.
    3. No recognition for innovation disclosures and publications.
    4. The entire company is in such a mess that it is a ticking time bomb ready to explode.
    5. Ask any employee of Motorola (above 10+ years) of experience. They will tell you how frustrated they are.

    Advice to Management

Higher level management should own the responsibility in lack of vision and focus in meeting their goals and should not cut back on hard working resources who are committed to the employer for a very long time.
