    Doesn't Recommend
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Motorola Mobile Devices has good benfits, mostly good good career paths, very good diversity. The Cell phone industry has to be one of the most exciting industries to be in for the last 10 years.

    Cons

Motorola is in a very tought spot, new competiion from apple, google, along with traditional sony/ericson, nokia, samsung, and LG. Difficult to see success. The organization is ineffective, decisions are only made at the very top, and lay offs continue.

    Advice to Management

Fix your organization to be effective. Structure jobs so employees can make decisions and develop product that can contribute to and be proud of. Culture has become only top managment makes decsion so why bother. Ensure you reward hardwork, not just the employee who spend most of their time "managing up". Focus on consumer facing differentiation not technolgy.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Very flexible work schedule with the ability to work at home often

    Cons

Managers who are more focused on politics and their own survival or advancement than creating good products or a good working atmosphere for the employees

    Advice to Management

There have been many layoffs of engineers and software developers, there are many incompetent middle managers who are still employed and should not be.
