Pros

Great opportunities for those who aggressively seek them.
International exposure.
Competitive compensation.
Good benefits.
Telecommuting is part of the culture.

Cons

Reductions in force has meant that everyone carries more of a load.
Meetings potentially at any hour of the day/night.
Inability to effective offer an end-to-end solution to complete with the larger telecom vendors.

Advice to Management

Remember that NSN has purchased Networks. Listen to their vision and priorities. Break down the "they" vs "us" attitude as quickly a possible. Cross-pollinate where possible to allow new ideas/attitudes to be injected into each organization.

    Pros

Salaries are very competitive if high performing.
    Flexibility to work from home.
Company has a strong reputation for quality and ethics.

    Cons

The never-ending spinoffs, layoffs, and hiring freezes for the last 10 years has kept employees uncertain of their future. The reduction of company scope, while appealing to investors, has limited the once touted broad set of job opportunities within the company.

    Advice to Management

Motorola performs remarkably well given the limited R&D budget relative to competition. But, the company is burning out its workers. Leadership needs to identify key customers and focus all efforts on satisfying that subset. While it's preferred to meet the needs of all customers, tough priority calls must be made.
