Pros

Less stress for employee, concentrate on quality and customer, competitive salary.

Cons

Older company, not much of innovations and opportunities to grow. Management protects their positions and suppress lower level employee to promotions. It's a political game and you need to know how to play.

    I worked at Motorola Solutions full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great engineering tradition. Even as the company withers away, there is great talent. I grew up in that environment, and although I have moved on, I realize I took for granted the talent of the people around me. It's much less outside the walls of Motorola.

    Cons

    Management. Just like anywhere else. It turns out, people are hard to manage. Unfortunately, through relative performance assessments, layoffs, and other bungling of senior managers, the company is beyond repair. There is no way to move up or work on anything different.

    Advice to Management

    Keep trying. Innovate again. Draw the people you've chased out back in. Promote the people that have stuck it out all these years and let them have a chance.
