I have been working at Murphy USA part-time (More than a year)

Pros

It's a job, its a job, its a job

Cons

NO BREAKS, ON FEET FOR WHOLE SHIFT, LOW PAY, HARD PHYSICAL LABOR , ONCE AGAIN NO BREAKS, EXPECT TO SUCK UP TO CUSTOMERS ALL DAY IN ORDER TO PROMOTE THEIR MONTHLY SPECIALS

This company expects you to do a whole task list of things, such as, change about 10 bins of nasty garbage, clean the nasty bathroom, stock the 40 degree cooler(lift crates of beer and soda), sweep parking lot, sweep and mop store, detail-clean windows and a host of other mess, stock about 30 boxes of cigarettes every time they have a truck come in, which is usually 2 or 3 times a week, stock the junk that goes on the shelves as well on truck day, and if you close the store at night, expect to close alone, which I think is unsafe, especially for a female. Its the worse place I ever worked and the turnover rate is so bad that just about anyone can move into a store management position, even if they are not the sharpest kid on the block or most professional person-- I hated this job with a passion -- if you are hard-up for money, like I was, and this is your last resort, go ahead and apply, but if you have other options, I suggest you avoid this company

(by time most of you read this, my status will actually be former employee-)

Advice to Management

GIVE BREAKS AND STOP TREATING YOUR EMPLOYEES LIKE ROBOTS.....AND GET TWO PEOPLE TO CLOSE THE STORE, INSTEAD OF ONE, I DONT CARE WHAT STATISTICS YOU BASE YOUR LABOR ON-- SOMEONE'S LIFE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN MAKING A DOLLAR!

I have been working at Murphy USA (More than a year)

    Pros

Part time if you go to school or need extra income
    Help with education

    Cons

Managers constantly threatening to write you up or fire you
Partiality is shown to some associates
Not enough hours, another way managers try to get rid of good hard working, never miss a day employees because they won't kiss up
Not allowed to sit down for six to eight hours
No matter what, customer is always right
Never a word about what a good job you are doing
Manager can sometimes not be reached when in a crisis
    Not much training

    Advice to Management

Have frequent manager classes to teach managers how to respectfully treat people
