Pros

Great job and team. Ability to flex hours and work from home. Current direct management team is very people oriented.

Cons

Little to no recognition. Goals constantly change but are not communicated. Minimal communication between teams. Due to the constant cutting of people the hours required to get your job done increase each year but there is less money. Typically small or no increases while executives bring in high dollar bonuses for cutting jobs to make the P&L look passable. Some managers focused on nothing but making sure they keep their own jobs or move ahead. Training is encouraged during reviews and objective setting but then discouraged due to budget constraints.

Advice to Management

Quit trying to cut so many costs. You are cutting them in one place but the results are increases everywhere else. Try making NCR a great place to work again!

    Pros

NCR is progressive in terms of offering benefits that support work/life balance. They are supportive of virtual workplace environments to allow people more flexibility with their work schedules.

NCR is also driving a culture that pays for performance so you are rewarded for putting in an extra effort, as opposed to some companies where promotions often seem to be awarded based more on tenure instead of on your results.

The leadership at NCR is currently driving a number of major changes in the company to tranform the culture to encourage high performance & innovation. These changes should position NCR to be very competitive in their industry and should also lead to many positive changes for the employees. NCR is making many improvements that should result in them being a very good and exciting place to work in the near future.

    Cons

Due to many recent cost cutting efforts in the past few years, there are not enough resources to do the necessary work so employees end up having to perform multiple roles and often work long hours. Also, there is not enough investment in technology for internal tools so there is still a good deal of manual work that is required to perform your duties that could be automated to make the employees' lives easier.

    Advice to Management

Senior Management must ensure that employees are more engaged. There are many exciting things going on in the company but the excitement & energy felt at the top about these programs is not always distributed downward due to lack of communication or encouraged involvement for employees that are lower in the organization.
