I worked at NCR full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Meet lots of people, return critical systems to operation

Cons

They keep cutting call centers and everyone else has to pick up extra work to make up for it, but instead of a raise, you get yelled at more for not doing enough.

I worked at NCR full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Generally, NCR's hardware technology outpaces the competition. Bringing solutions to market that benefit customers is rewarding.

    Cons

Enormous cutbacks means those left to absorb the workload are constantly challenged to meet skyrocketing demands. Customer Service suffers tremendously.

    Advice to Management

Think about how enormous cutbacks - those clearly made to affect short term quarterly profit commitments and show strength over competition - will affect the customer long term. In Diebold's case specifically, this plays right into their strong point as they continue to absorb new customers jumping off the NCR ship due to poor service, or at minimum, negotiate stronger SLAs and lower service pricing for those that don't jump. Think about how this unavoidably turns the sales role into an account management role with fewer cycles available to sell.
