Opportunity to grow, intelligent people and programs, rich history, well designed products

Cons

Entry level workers are largely unmotivated and underpaid. Very aggressive revenue goals.

Advice to Management

Invest in training for your staff.

    Pros

    Pockets of good people and teams.
    Decent work/life balance - can work virtual. Some managers are flexible with this.

    Cons

    Too many chiefs, not enough Indians.
    Mentality is work harder, not smarter.
    Revolving door of leadership.
    Too sales-driven - old-school way of thinking.
    Try to do too much as a company - try to build solutions too late in the game.
    Not forward-thinking enough to be competitive.

    Advice to Management

    Smarter, not harder.
    Lead. Inspire.
    Make NCR a place an employee would be proud to work for.
    Don't be condescending to your employees. You hired them for a reason.
    You will NOT win without investing in Marketing. It is 2013.

    I have been working at NCR full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Has the power of a typical large corporation with regards to benefits, tools, education, and compensation.

    Cons

    Managerial styles vary widely, too widely. For instance, my manager was too focused on making the numbers look good, not focused on resolving the underlying issues that drive some of our metrics. Other managers take a wholistic approach focused on making sure we have the underlying issues addressed, such as education and experience of technicians, or call management.
