I worked at NCR as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Small teams, good labs, hands-on electrical engineering work. Fast-paced.

Cons

Upper-level management seems disconnected from engineering.

Advice to Management

Be more transparent and highlight work being done in the trenches by engineering.

    Pros

    Some interesting work, ,decent co-workers

    Cons

Benefits and compensation have decreased in value as things like non-executive bonuses were cut severely to make quarterly numbers look better. Some departments office environment among the worst seen in corporate America, although others OK. Outsourcing on the rise.

I worked at NCR full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A huge company to work for and it is growing. You see NCR everywhere, no matter where you go.

    Cons

Very self service internally with no assistance in IT, HR, AP, ect or a phone number to call. Upper management will not back you up for anything. There is a heavy amount of corporate politics that go on and unkind word about co-workers behind peoples backs. You are expected to work 70 hour weeks with no compensation. When performance reviews come around, any accomplishments you have had will go un-noticed.
