No opinion of CEO

Pros

Good working environment. Fast moving. High tech products in a very competitive market. Great benefits - really good health and others.

Cons

High pressure - too few peoples to do do too much work. Losing edge in products - best product is too expensive to make up for declining sales.

Advice to Management

Need to find a really uniques product that will restore the company's lead in the market like Rangemax was 2 years ago.

    I worked at NETGEAR full-time

    Pros

Management supportive of career growth and technical interests
    Interesting products to work on
    Fast design cycles
    Good place to learn!

    Cons

Company culture was not very fun/dynamic compared to SF startup culture, but HR was starting to implement some efforts (quarterly happy hours or food trucks) to improve this
Company growth had been relatively flat

    I worked at NETGEAR full-time

    Pros

    - Work-life balance: summer Fridays, 4 work-from-home days a month, and overtime is rarely required
    - Relaxed work environment: mostly stress free; managers don't usually push you to take projects outside of your core duty
    - Friendly people: as long as you stay away from management politics

    Cons

    - Relaxed environment can be a double edged sword; you may lose career ambition
    - Relatively low pay compare to similar firms in the area (I would say <50 percentile)
    - If you are interested in solving interesting engineering problems, this company is not for you. Outsourcing has became a go-to solution for any engineering projects/challenge. All the work left are mostly project/program management stuff
