Pros

It's a great company to work for. I've always admired the way they have Marketed their products and they will continue to be a top notch complany as long as they keep the innovation of their products a priority. Far too often companies like this get stale in their approach and as a result they begin to lose market share.

Cons

The hours were fairly long. Don't get me wrong. I love to work as much as the next person, however, at some point and time there has to be a balance between work and the home life. In my new capacity I have that freedom.

Advice to Management

Be more objective

    Pros

If you can dream it, influence it, and promote it......you CAN do it! People often put personal boundaries and limitations on themselves. What I have seen working at Nike is that oftentimes only you limit your potential for growth. At Nike you have the opportunity to flex, grow, and move around. In fact, its encouraged. The more you know about Nike's business the greater the likelihood that you will make better decisions in your given role.

    Cons

Not all individuals are open and authentic.....yet. Nike is always on the move and not everyone embraces change easily. Some unfortunately fight hard not to change resulting in political plays and hallway conversations.

    Advice to Management

Be open, be authentic and trust that if you are transparent in your communications and caring in your approach, you will see your teams extending their trust and changing their behaviors accordingly.

    Pros

The people you work with. There are some pretty amazing people that work for this comapany.

    Cons

Store management. They really like to play favorites and are very afraid of rocking the boat or going out on a limb. They are very complacent and they do not set you up for success. There is little to no training for management. Management cares very little for the well being of others.

    Advice to Management

Time to revamp store management. They need to look at how they do things at the store level.
