Advice to Management

Hire people who challenge the status quo. Get away from "well we have always done it this way." When Nike was founded computers didn't exist. Change is good. Don't hire those who will just agree with you.

    I worked at NIKE full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Relationship focused, emphasis on consumer satisfaction, high strategic goals with a fair amount of vision.

    Cons

    Overall business process management is well behind the times, extremely unbalanced work/life balance (life? what life?), overly flexible - difficult to actually finishing something that gets started - lots of time/resources/money wasted as a result.

    Advice to Management

    Focus on what is actually important to reaching goals - stop twisting and turning like drunk drivers and allow your people to get something finished for a change. Nike is all about change but some consistency is really needed.
