Current Employee - Production Clerk in Chicago, IL
Current Employee - Production Clerk in Chicago, IL

Pros

High-profile management, opportunities for advancement (if you're patient), connection to one of the most prominent schools in the country

Cons

Low pay, hours may be sporadic (esp. for new hires), advancement may require showing management that you are interested, not just speaking up

Advice to Management

Treat your staff with kid gloves and they will do the same.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

    somewhat good work life balance

    Cons

Pay was horrible, mangers lied to staff, no one cares, random firings, did not respect staff, directors watched tv on there offices, HR kept door to there offices closed, and poor morale.

    Advice to Management

Fire the mangers you have now and start all over. If I was the University of Chicago, I would be ashamed that NORC uses my name.

"Good company overall, call center is poorly managed"

    Pros

The Research Department is a great place to work at NORC. Managers in this area assist their workers and provide training and development

    Cons

The call center is poorly managed. Even though training is consistently being provided, employees are not treated with the respect that an employee would expect from their employer.

    Advice to Management

I suggest doing an overall of the managers in the call center.
