Pros

- a lot of hands-on knowledge to learn that can't be learned in the classroom or by reading
- ability to work independently and within a group simultaneously
- minimal micromanagement
- adequate supervision provided

Cons

- very very low compensation for workload expectations
- supervisor is disorganized and inefficient
- atmosphere is closed doors, lacks vibrancy, and is typically older

Advice to Management

NKI could be improved by higher salary and supervisor standards, and cross collaboration between lab groups in a more personal, direct manner.

    Pros

    NKI is working on some of the most relevant, but neglected issues of our society as they relate to mental health.

    Cons

    You have to deal with the bureaucracy that comes from working with a government-funded institution, and hoping that your project gets funded again.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work and do continue to trust and respect research support staff with responsibilities on your projects.
