I have been working at National American University full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

The people are very nice and coworkers are very friendly and fun. The management tries to make the environment seem fun.

Cons

I have never worked for a worse institution. The management is not at all qualified to be in the positions they are in but were put in the positions because they got their degrees from NAU. They are underhanded and shady and only care about money. The school as a whole pretends to care about the students but all they care about is getting students past the drop date so they HAVE to pay for their classes. Admissions advisors are made to make attest 100 calls a day to the same leads that are share between several schools. If you get hung up on "maybe they are having a bad day", if they say no "call back in a few months they might change their mind" and everything is the advisor's fault. If you don't get enough people to enroll the threaten you with termination. Students are just numbers to them and their prices are outrageous, they encourage students who they call "tards" behind the students back, to take out hefty loans that they know they won't be able to repay. Staff are made to "babysit" each and every student to make sure they get books and show up to class to get attendance. Some of the management call the students names like "tards", "f-ups", "loser", and many other names behind there backs.Worse than they treat the students however, is how they treat their employees. Turn-over is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS! they fire people for small things or come up with a reason to fire people they don't like. The managers allow sexual harassment to take place and act like it's no big deal. Staff are made to play and participate in arbitrary games and then are scolded if their dials aren't high enough. Overall, Any bad business practice you can think of happen here. Even the desperate shouldn't take a job here, i have never been in a more hostile work environment.

I have been working at National American University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Coworkers are generally very fun

    Cons

All about money. Local management is inferior and unqualified, most with Cracker Jack box educations, like that of NAU. Poor pay. People and students are nothing but dollar signs to them. There is no "caring and supportive" environment beyond getting into the students' pocketbooks. Management will manipulate credit hours to look good.

    Advice to Management

Try to retain the good people you have. Listen to your "boots on the ground". Treat people with respect and mostly stop viewing people as dollar signs!!!!!
