I worked at National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Supervisors were great and very knowledgeable, helpful at all times and very dedicated to their work. Good learning experience for honing interviewing skills and somewhat-investigative skills. Very rewarding as far as the kind of work you are doing (finding missing children)

    Cons

Job postings were a "formality," for supervisors knew who they were hiring before posting the job. They typically hired friends and past associates, disregarding the hard-working interns who had spent months to years putting in unpaid work and time for an opportunity at a paid position. Very few interns are ever hired here. Very discouraging.

    Advice to Management

Instill in your employees the need to expand job opportunities to the younger generation, particularly those who put hundreds of unpaid hours into working your internships.

I have been working at National Center for Missing & Exploited Children full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Motivating mission, and good premises location

    Cons

Rampant with cronyism, corrupt, dishonest and unethical place to work.

    Advice to Management

Get a backbone and treat your employees as human beings not slaves
