Pros

Great location. Great issues to work on. Great annual conference. Otherwise normal, decent set of co-workers.

Cons

For much of the last 15 years, until just recently, the place was run by a cabal of about 4-6 at the top that kept out anyone from within or below with new ideas and new skills and new energy. So most of those smart people who should have been running the place just left. And the rapidly aging pack at the top simply soldiered on.

Advice to Management

Leave. Immediately.

    Pros

Benefit package is very generous, including 3 weeks of vacation for new employees and 5 weeks with 15 or more years. Flexible work arrangements including telework options.

    Cons

The association is currently experiencing financial distress. Morale is poor and staff is increasingly being asked to do "more with less" while still providing quality programs and services to members.

    Advice to Management

Need to be more aware of the stresses being placed on employees due to poor management decisions.
