I worked at Navigant full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Great client exposure, ability to take on as much responsibility as possible, large company benefits with small company feel...

Cons

Not a place where a hard working, talented young professional can move up at an appropriate pace. Compensation is at the bottom for top tier consulting firms...

Advice to Management

Identify and promote young talent faster...

I have been working at Navigant full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is interesting work at all levels of employment. If an engagment is small enough, you may have the opportunity to learn new skills and being involved at all levels of the engagement. There is lots of diversity in your day to day projects and tasks. Very friendly culture, not an overwhelming feeling of seniority.

    Cons

Often 40+ hours a week, but that is typical given this type of work. Parking is very expensive and the metro in DC isn't that cheap either.

I have been working at Navigant as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Comprehensive training program, competitive, yet collegial, culture, employees from diverse and interesting backgrounds from all over the world.

    Cons

Lack of transparency (particularly with respect to senior management), lack of long-term vision and structure to develop and promote staff, inattentive middle managers.

    Advice to Management

There should be a revamping of the management structure and more "McKinsey-like" policies and procedures to incent people to perform.
