Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Navistar full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Hard working and knowledgeable workforce. World Class headquarters with great amenities. Working to create a more robust design and development process. Top notch industrial design.

Cons

Will sacrifice workers to satisfy investors. Crowded and constantly shifting upper management roster.

Advice to Management

In times of fiscal uncertainty, do whatever it takes to maintain employment levels, even if it means temporarily cutting salaries across the board, and actually fix the processes that continue to hemorrhage money.

    Advice to Management

Considering the down time and uncertainty the company is just doing OK. The question is how long is this OK situation going to last. It is very uncertain whether it is going to be worse or there is going to be a slow recovery.

Everything in the CEO's decision is about how to reduce cost and keep the company alive, which might make the company lean. But it is cruel for some of the people.

Some of the co-workers here are very capable, but not everyone of them. Some of them are more interested in talking and meeting than really developing products. Some of them are doing things without rigorous thinking as long as they can fill the time card. Don't blame them, some part of the management setup the rules to encourage people doing that way.

Hope the management could think about how to organize people and encourage creativity in all the workers instead of driving every people to the truck review center and making cost cutting suggestions without enough technical background.
