    Pros

Generally good culture, mainly based in US

    Cons

horrible strategic decisions have doomed Navistar for the next five years. Making short term decisions as a result of majority ownership by three private investors, including Carl Icahn

I have been working at Navistar full-time

    Pros

Many people do try to help each other, especially in coping with repeated layoffs. Upper management is trying to find ways to overcome long term culture of fragmented business units competing with each other. Management is improving communication.

    Cons

Silos and disregard for upstream and downstream impacts in decision making. Lack of integrated processes and/or systems. Lots of "tribal" knowledge being lost, documentation and standard processes rarely available.

    Advice to Management

Do keep trying to change the culture, do keep communicating.
