I worked at Nebraska Public Power District as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great engineering staff in North Platte, NE. Very qualified engineering staff and very proficient operations at North Platte Office.

    Cons

Dam Safety Bureaucracy at Columbus, Nebraska office very unskilled at dam safety engineering - the Columbus NE staff does not understand engineering principles, does not appear to follow recommendations from North Platte Engineering Staff, and allows Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to ask for unneeded analysis, and poorly schedules responses causing duplication of work. Non-engineering staff at Columbus, Nebraska office does not respect proficient engineering staff in North Platte, NE.

    Advice to Management

Remove dam safety function from non-engineering group and non-engineering employees in Columbus NE
