Pros

A global brand with some of the best development teams in the business with a global reach. Excellent interpersonal relations and teams that get the work done.

Cons

Too many chiefs and therefore not enough money left to pay for enough indians to do the work.
Underwhelming product offering with no real direction from management on how to market it. A very young management team.

Advice to Management

A well known company that has fallen into a rut that will always be labeled a burning company. This coupled with multiple flat software launches has hurt overall company morale. Changes in management within the last three years has also left staff with a complete loss of qualified individuals at key position and as a result has lowered confidence within the development, marketing, and sales groups. Most can be attributed from the guidance of first time C-level management as it is being run with a first-time CEO, COO, CTO, and a VP of sales and of marketing that oversees continued fallen revenues and provides no guidance as to direction.

This leadership deficiency has plays a significant role in Nero's ability to make good products. Executives choose to take a back seat and deny responsibility for their own governing. There is no company morale, the employees are over worked, underpaid and unappreciated in the scheme, it's just the next promo, continue milking the customer with more emails, even when the data presented to the C-level signals bad governance they turn away and continue to insist on hitting unattainable sales goals. God forbid if you continue questioning the phantom numbers.... EVERYONE IS EXPENDABLE to them.

I worked at Nero full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Product & company still had a good reputation at that time.
    Salary & benefits were competitive.

    Cons

The atmosphere - at least in Sales & Marketing - was horrific. If you originally did not come from that particular area of Germany you became an outsider very quickly.
It soon turned out that most people already knew each other from school or even kindergarten before joining the company. The colleagues in other parts of the world seemed to be quite friendly, though.

    Advice to Management

Since the Management is not based in Germany, they don't need to care.
