Pros

The company is really growing fast with lots of new opportunities all of the time. The benefits are very good and most of the people are really focused and work hard. There is pretty good comradely and almost everyone is willing to jump in to a situation and help.

Cons

As the company grows not everyone has the same entrepreneurial spirit. Some come aboard thinking it is a big company and they simply have to focus on their little piece. Those people don't go far and as you look through the reviews it is easy to find them.

    Pros

Supportive engineering management - they generally were once engineers themselves and can relate to situations and advise on "who to call for what."

    Cons

Sales management - where do they get these people? After years in a thriving customer situation, they can be disruptive to the very thing that brings in their paycheck - a continuing revenue stream.

    Advice to Management

Give sales managers the psychopath test - they're running off great technical talent for no good reasons.

"Good company and benefits but 1st and 2nd level management not too good."

I have been working at NetApp full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits such as health, vision, dental but these are being chiseled away.
Great stock purchase plan, two year price fix can make the plan very lucrative.
Nice facilities including several decent cafeterias, gym has towel service and classes such as spin, yoga, etc.
Company is well positioned to succeed in the marketplace if can deliver.

    Cons

Forced distribution will eventually mark you as "needs to improve". Ranking is sort of like playing in recreational league where you self-referee, the level of play is always one or two levels above the level of officiating (i.e. management)

Not possible to do a good job because too much to do and nobody wants to hear it. If you raise concerns about not having enough time or resources, management will keep leaning on you until you change your answer.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your engineers rather than forcing them to give you the answer you want.
Better 1st and 2nd level managers.
