I have been working at NetApp full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Fantastic benefits, great technology, overall a high bar of talent

Cons

Poor middle management and poorly thought out performance metrics

Advice to Management

Take a closer look at how you rate your employees. Benefits were phenomenal and the technology is great. Get rid of the middle management fluff.

I have been working at NetApp full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I've been with NetApp a little over 7 years, and have moved up to better positions 4 times in those years. Great upward mobility potential at this company!

    Cons

I can't think of a single con. My experience working at NetApp has been nothing short of stellar for 7+ years.

    Advice to Management

Nothing except maybe a little more creativity with product names. Does everything really have to start with "Snap-" or "Flex-"??

    Pros

    - Competitive salaries
    - innovative products
    - strong value proposition
    - great place to work
    - strong executive management team

    Cons

    - growing faster than internal processes can keep up
    - not willing to make investments in large strategic accounts to unseat encumbent.

    Advice to Management

In order to unseat EMC in large strategic accounts, NetApp must be willing to make some large investments in these accounts. EMC makes large investments to keep NetApp out, but NetApp is not willing to make investments to get in. Top execs must be willing to travel to competitive accounts to strengthen C-level relationships. EMC is on a first name basis with C-level execs and will call them directly in competitive situations.
