Pros

Members of the development team, testing team, tech support team, and sales and administrative staff, were all very friendly and knowledgeable.

Cons

- Compensation was low. - Management discriminates and plays favourites. - Management has far too much influence over detailed technical development and testing related decisions. - Computer equipment did not have enough memory or CPU power to run the virtual machine environment needed to do my job. - Replacement computer equipment came in the form of a refurbished model with a defective hard drive that failed a system diagnostic test, locked up my system multiple times, and caused data loss. When I notified the manager of this issue, he yelled at me and told me to get back to my desk and continue working with it. No office supplies provided until AFTER I bought my own notebook and had been using it for weeks. The company then purchased notebooks for everyone and told us to number the pages, not rip anything out, and that everything we brought to work was now Netsweeper property. - Company makes a mockery out of the software development process by labeling requirements with vague and unprofessional titles such as "Create awesome new feature for x" or "Fix this piece of ____ thing that sucks". - Only management is allowed to have any input on anything. - Management would openly joke about firing people. - Company turns a blind eye to the misuse of its product. - Very small company. Half of the office space is empty cubicles. Building feels empty.

Pros

Fully remote. Workload is fairly light for me. Very few pointless meetings that should have been emails. Some members of staff are really good at what they do.

Cons

VERY low salary. Possibly illegal practices, especially around GDPR. Very poor communication both within and across teams. Don’t expect to know what’s going on, even if knowing is critical to your job role. You will never be given an accurate timeframe on anything. It may be over a year out. Some members of staff are completely incompetent. I’m not exaggerating, this is often an ‘I question whether they’re literate’ level of incompetence.
