Pros

1 - Payscale is not terrible for the face-time hours and content prep required to be effective with results 2 - Altruistic rationale is that one can positively mentor many younger folks with strong core values of ethics & decency in personal conduct/ interest to continuously learn & help one's community.

Cons

1 - Be prepared to be treated like an itinerant worker, even with your degrees earned, by some rather jaded folks in this huge system. 2 - Working conditions can range from acceptable to abhorrent, but that is left to chance--and how the administration locally decides to have such working conditions. 3 - Supervisory skills by admin can range also from very good to "why did I decide to be a Teacher?!"
