Collaborative work teams, excellent management, good discipline system & accountability. Solid opportunities to earn extra income running clubs and grading state tests. NYC DOE base salaries are low, but rank among the highest teacher salaries in the country.
Cons
Very large school 4 floors to navigate and you will be a traveling teacher if you do not teach 8th grade science, math or ELA. NYC DOE base salaries arent high. Teaching is teaching - this isn’t the career for work-life balance.
