I worked at New York College of Health Professions full-time (More than a year)

Pros

If you make it 6 months when you get laid off, you can receive unemployment. You ideally want to start working here in the fall so that they can lay you off for the summer, collect unemployment, and enjoy Long Island's beaches

Cons

Leadership does not care about the job you do, they tend to poach your ideas to improve the school a few months later. Established employees became established by throwing other employees under the bus, ambition will earn you nothing but grief. You're hands are tied due to poor administrative policies, and the administration would rather let students know about how they have intellectual property rather then how they will improve the college.

Advice to Management

Be accountable, you may be able to constantly lay off deans, registrars, admissions, and financial aid officers, but sooner or later it will catch up to you.

    Pros

Students and Faculty are great- Under appreciated

    Cons

Extremely high turnover for faculty and administration
    High student drop rate
    No commitment to faculty development
    No student activities (student life)
    No organizational structure
Lack of professionalism across the board

    Advice to Management

Replace executive management with people that have experience outside of NY College.
You can not have pride in firing dozens of employees. It is a direct reflection of lack of leadership and experience. Shame shame.

I worked at New York College of Health Professions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They constantly hire - this place works like a revolving door, so that you have a pretty good chance of getting in, especially in the admissions, but also in financial aid, registrar, even teachers.

    Cons

Same as Pros - next time they will through you away like a dog, and security guard will immediately escort you outside the building, even if you were the Dean.

    Advice to Management

First of all - any business needs stability. And second - so far you've ruined the school that used to have the reputation of the best acupuncture school in the tri-state area just 5 years ago, and now it's the worst one. Something is very wrong in the management.
