I worked at NexJ Systems full-time

    Pros

TTC Accessible - at York Mills subway
    Co-workers are young and bright
Only good for new grads with no previous work experience who want to get their foot in the door

    Cons

Don't expect to have a life outside of NexJ. Core hours are 9-6pm but most people work 60+ hours per week and work through their 1 hour lunch to meet deadlines yet are paid regular 9-5 salaries. There is no overtime pay, time off in lieu of etc. Don't expect a thank you from management for your hard work, you are simply expected to work ridiculous overtime hours. You are not allowed to take sick days regardless of company claims. Top management will not be sympathetic if you are away from work for any reason even if it's only for one day. There is no work/life balance at all.

    Advice to Management

There is a reason for such a high turnover rate, I hear around 40% now. Management needs to show their employees a little respect and understand that most people do have lives outside of work. People can still be hard workers and produce top quality work even if they take one sick day. Give your employees a little creative freedom and get rid of all the red tape, otherwise, you will lose many more valuable employees. This company will soon have only new grads, co-ops and top management and no one in the middle. A company that drives away all their experienced workers is setting itself up for failure.

    Pros

-Benefits are given without a probation period
-Convenient location as it is located along a GO bus route and right over top of a TTC subway stop

    Cons

-Highly dysfunctional evironment, where senior managers are commonly heard screaming at employees and each other
-Poor work life balance, with standard hours being 9-6, although most will work through their lunch, come in early and leave late
-Far too many co-ops, and a very high turnover rate makes this place feel like a temporary stop to pay the bills

    Advice to Management

Treat the employees with more respect, this place is bleeding people. It starts at the top with the CEO.
