Pros

You get to put that you were a photographer on your CV

Cons

Forced to work long hours for what works out to less than minimum wage. 14 hour days were common for a salary that reflected little promise of any chance in progressing within the company. Was promised a raise several times but it never came through Poor management and lack of care when it comes to wellbeing of staff. Pays more attention to income/business than employee welfare when it comes to working.

Pros

Company car, all equipment provided.

Cons

I applied to be a photographer but was quickly reassigned as an energy assessor, with no real discussion — suddenly I was climbing into lofts and measuring insulation instead of taking photos. The scheduling was chaotic and unrealistic, with jobs booked far apart, forcing me to speed, rush parking, and rack up monthly fines that ate into an already low wage. Lunch breaks didn’t exist, and late finishes were the norm, often cutting into personal time. Annual leave is barely legal. Management, particularly Ryan (London), came off more like a wannabe Dragons’ Den judge than someone who understood photography or valued his team — it was all about hitting targets to boost his own image. If you’re a creative trying to build a portfolio, use this place briefly if you must, then run.
