No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Nokia full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Great balance of life and work

Cons

Indecisive executive direction. Inability to see tech trends and 'ride the wave' rather than get swamped by competition. Inability to properly plan product lines.

I have been working at Nokia full-time

    Pros

Great benefits and compensation, in particular outstanding 401K match.

    Cons

Has lost lots of ground to competition, resulting in lots of layoffs, people leaving, and financial crunch.

    Advice to Management

You really have to innovate to compete in this market. A new good phone is just not good enough anymore.

I have been working at Nokia full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Open and encouraging culture. Lots of opportunities to participate and be involved. Socialization and collaboration are rewarded. Great opportunity to broaden horizons. If there is something you can think about in mobile chances are that Nokia has two teams working on it. Pay and benefits are good as well.

    Cons

The Pros have lead to management abuse in certain areas. While the company is open they also tend to avoid conflict and avoid fixing issues in the management chain. This allows certain managers, who choose to take advantage of the openness within the company, to run rampant. Stated Nokia culture values have been abused, but not dealt with. If you land in a bad team you are doomed.

    Advice to Management

You guys are lost. Either figure out a path for the company quickly or find someone who can.
