I have been working at Nokia full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Very international company
    Not many management layers
Quick in adopting to new environments

    Cons

Company is still missing a new soul after the merger of Nokia and Siemens and the purchase of Moto.
Salaries differ massive, once a low salary, always a low salary
Hard cuts in the last 2 years on everything from coffee to benefits

    Advice to Management

Find a common culture for NSN

    I worked at Nokia full-time

    Pros

Posters all over the Rancho Benardo building about Empathy for one another and doing the right thing, walking to a co-worker to see them in person rather than emailing them - how it can be beneficial. . .

    Cons

Nokia seemed pre occupied with clawing their way back, hoping the Microsoft partnership will be their ticket back to a lead role in the ever-changing telecom market place. Well it doesn't mean to not pay attention still to the humans.

    Advice to Management

    Practice what you preach!
Human Resources and especially Recruiting with your fancy name of Talent Acquisition - get your act together. I imagine if the head of HR wasn't in the Bay area, it would be easier.
