I worked at Nokia as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

learned a lot of technical skills in a hardware intern position. Coworkers are friendly. it was the biggest mobile phone company.

    Cons

the development schedule could be more aggressive to hit the market sooner. when I worked there, it was in 2007.

I have been working at Nokia full-time

    Pros

+ you can grow if you have the determination and skills.
    + lot of opportunities
+ less competition as mostly people in large teams do not stretch

    Cons

    - Salary at lower levels may be non-competitive
    - Very top down driven company - no / little value for opinions
    - After the recent Reorgs company believed too much in statistics and very less in honest feedbacs
    - L4 is overworked and L3 relaxes

    Advice to Management

    - BE pragmatic about management => you cannot enforce culture, you need to create and evolve culture
    - HR should be an active function , not some rubber stamp
