Great Company. I worked at a hedge fund under nomura which was great. Freedom given is immense. All in all a great experience.

Well for an intern you sometiems get lost in the talk amongst trader with no one really explaining anything to a new comer.

They have a great team of credit analysts, traders, and portfolio managers. The work is interesting and everyone works together.

Though the job is interesting there is limited room for upward mobility, so unless you want to be a career analysts this may not be the place for you.

    Pros

The company tends to hire newly grads for the investment and operations teams. This means even if you don't have any prior relevent experience, you can still have a good chance to get hired. But if you graduated from a top school, you can get a even better shot. The management structure is very flat, and managers are open to suggestions and proposals. If you have great ideas, don't be afraid to talk to the managers about them, and be ready to implement those ideas.

    Cons

The biggest downside of working here is low pay, which explains why the firm likes to hire newly grads. For your first year bonus, don't expect it to be more than 10K. Even after you've been working there for a couple years, your total comp can still be lower than that in similar firms. The second biggest downside is slow advancement, especially in the investment team. There was one credit analyst working there for 6 years since he came out of school, but didn't get any promotion despite his good work. To sum it up, you can expect to overwork and be very underpaid.

    Advice to Management

Treat your workers more generously and give more perks! Hire more people so your current employees won't leave because of unbearable workload!
