I have been working at Noodles & Company part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Co-workers and management are awesome! You never feel talked down to, you can talk to your uppers as if they are the real people they are.

Work around school schedules, easy to take time off, very flexible. A variety of shifts, ranging between 4-9 hours, in different positions. Also relatively easy to move into the different positions, for instance from front of house to kitchen.

Pretty relaxed when slow, but can be stressful when super busy.

The food is delicious.

Cons

Pay is not great, and schedules are not consistent. Difficult to stay at a certain number of hours. Some weeks you get 30 hours some 15.

Sometimes scheduled double-shifts and close-opens.

Can't accept tips.

Advice to Management

Keep being real people, it's nice to feel relaxed around management. To the company though, you should start allowing tips. Let us be rewarded for the work we do, besides it's always awkward to hand someones money back to them when they are trying to tip you.

I have been working at Noodles & Company part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free food quite often or really cheap, free bus pass, nice people to work with( not all managers are included in this) convenient location.

    Cons

horrible hours. no compassion when father was really sick and i had to miss three shifts, even though i covered and stayed longer to hep them out countless times before. never get the days off i request even if it was 2 months in advance and i was the first person to ask for it. only know the schedule a week in advance so you can't plan anything because i never get the days off i ask for. new hires get paid more than people that have been there a long time; only way to get a raise it to move up to a manager position. Kinda promised a shift manager position when hired but ended up being just an employee. never properly trained, more of "monkey see, monkey do" when i joined. the menus were changed and the construction left a mess even though they said they were going to clean it up so when the general manager came in the next morning, the closing manager was about to get in trouble even though it was not his fault. important people were even there when they were starting and said they would make sure it was cleaned but they did not do that.

    Advice to Management

be more fair and consistent. make sure people are trained by a manager, not the staff. if some one works hard and helps out the company by doing extra shifts and covering for other people when they don't show up, don't give them the short end of the stick when a family emergency comes up for a few shifts.
